Starting Psychotherapy

First, set aside time so that we can have about a 20 minute phone conversation (no fee) to help us both get a sense of how we would work together. We will discuss what you would like help with, and I will ask some questions about you, your present situation, and your life in general. I will also answer any questions you may have about my practice. You will gain a sense of how comfortable you are talking with me and I will gain a sense of how I might be able to help you.

If we feel that there may be a good "fit", the next step would be to schedule a session. A face-to-face session will give you a much stronger sense of how we would work together. If it seems that a different therapist or approach would be a better fit for you, I will do my best to help you find another therapist, and I have a large network of referrals to draw upon.

Hours

I have day and evening hours. Sessions are generally 50 minutes, usually once a week, although it is not unusual to schedule longer or more frequent sessions, as needed.
